At the beginning of the 18th century, the concept of fine arts began to be used to refer to the most important arts and the correct use of technique. The first known text in which mention is made of the fine arts is the one written by Charles Batteux and entitled "Beaux-Arts réduits à un même principe" (Fine Arts reduced to a single principle), in which the different theories about beauty and taste that were in force at that time. Initially Batteux incorporated music, dance, poetry, sculpture and painting into his definition, but then over the years it was included in eloquence.

Currently, the fine arts are classified into 7 different disciplines, they are music, sculpture, painting, dance, literature, architecture and cinema, the latter being included in the 20th century, which is why it is known as seventh art. However, nowadays, fine arts are also defined as a study that is characterized by combining knowledge of art theory, history, art techniques, restoration, museums, conservation and artistic criticism. It is possible to study it in different universities in the world and the degree obtained is a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

On the other hand, it is important to mention that in Mexico City there is an important building called Palacio de Bellas Artes, located exactly in the historic center of this city, it is one of the most renowned opera venues at the level world, not to mention the fact that it has hosted various events of great importance for Mexico and the world, both related to art and politics and society. It was built during the end of the term of President Porfirio Díaz, its construction was ordered on the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of the Independence of Mexico, but it was not inaugurated until 1934 after the Mexican Recollection broke out.

  • Architecture: This discipline is based on the foundations established by the ancient Greeks, it is characterized by the use and collection of various aesthetic design elements that present functional structures, which represent the means to carry out the construction of buildings, that in addition to lasting over time, they must also be attractive to the eyes of people. It is important to mention that in addition to art, architecture is also considered a science, this is due to the fact of combining beauty with that of a structurally functional design.
  • Music: this discipline is characterized by the creation of sounds, which are combined and comply with some basic principles, such as rhythm, melody, harmony and timbre. Music is classified as superior art as it makes use of some of the higher senses such as vision and hearing. For millions of years, several painters have been recognized throughout the world, which is why it would not be something strange that even today it is considered one of the most important fine arts.
  • Literature: in the old days only poetry was recognized as art, however, today all literature is included as art, since this is a way of giving the recognition that those authors who use words to represent feelings and deserve deserve. different situations. Anything that uses words to create something is considered art.
  • Dance: it constitutes one of the 7 fine arts because of the energetic movements that are made to the rhythm of the music that are used, and it is considered one of the most aesthetic forms of expression that man can enjoy.
  • Cinema: this is the newest form of fine arts, it is characterized by using different techniques of protection and spelling, with which it can transmit different art situations, which can provoke different sentimental sensations in the viewer. It is popularly known as the seventh art and was listed as such by Ricciotto Cabido, a film critic. In 1911 he drew up a manifesto of the seven fine arts and in which I introduced the cinema as one of them.
