What is a service company? »Its definition and meaning

Anonim

There are different collective needs, which must be satisfied in one way or another, it is not always by means of obtaining or acquiring a material good, but it is by the fact that they provide us with a service that we feel satisfied and with our needs fulfilled or covered, the Service Companies are intended to provide the community with this benefit to be pleased. A Service Company is one whose main activity is to offer a service (intangible) in order to satisfy collective needs, complying with its financial year (profit). These companies can be public, private or mixedWhen they are public, it is because the State is in a better capacity to carry out this activity than an individual (and they are used to cover so-called public needs), but generally since they are private companies, the quality of the service is better.

This type of organization has certain characteristics that define it and one of them is that they do not sell a good or a product to which you can say "this belongs to me", however if they did it would be for added value, of which we have a company of telephony, which despite selling (physical) telephones also sell the service of calls, messaging, among others (virtual or intangible). The intangibility of the service refers to what we cannot touch, have, eat, smell, feel, that is, it cannot be perceived by any of our senses.

It is said that service companies sell logistics, organization, planning or knowledge, for this reason they must be specialized in their branch. On the other hand, it is also necessary that the services cannot be separated from their suppliers because doing so may alter the result of the service, and if it is provided with quality and good will, the companies will always keep their customers satisfied and loyal.

Although we have insisted that the services as such are intangible, different means are always needed to achieve this objective, for example an airline is a service company that specializes in moving you from one place to another, however the plane is needed and the pilot (if you can see and touch them) to be able to do it.

There are many examples of service companies, such as electricity, water, gas, commerce, transportation, communications, culture, entertainment, hotels, tourism, among others.
