The word school comes from Latin roots, from the word "schola" which means "lesson" or "school" and this from the Greek entry "σχολή" which gives it the meaning of "leisure", "study" or "free time ”, Also related to the Indo-European root “ segh ”which is equivalent to“ sustain ”; However, certain sources confirm that its original meaning in Greek was “tranquility”, so that later it would be inclined to those that are carried out during free time or what should be done, until it ends up meaning “study” opposing games, according to the Greek of Plato and Aristotle; then in the Hellenistic era he made reference to the philosophical schools and since then he has taken the current concept that it is a "study center". The famous dictionary of the real Spanish academy exposes the word school, in a general sense as that "public establishment where any kind of instruction is given." Therefore, it can be said that a school is any entity, institution or organization that may well be public or private in which a series of knowledge is imparted to a specific group of people or individuals.
In other words, it is the general name given to every teaching center, college, educational center, among others that are in charge of transmitting or providing teaching or education; although it generally refers more to primary educational centers or university schools, which together with each of their faculties establish universities. For its part, the word school also refers to any method, system or mode that each teacher uses to impart knowledge to their students.
As is well known, there are public schools and private schools, which are distinguished by the fact that the former are free and are subsidized by the State; Unlike private schools that are run by private individuals, which are not free since they charge a certain fee for each of the educational services they provide.
