Evolution is a term marked by history, which describes the overcoming of a stage to enter another of greater complexity, the term implies that knowledge grows and evolves in every possible aspect and is a theme that comes from the foundation of human consciousness. Evolution is a practical concept applied to everything that adopts new functionalities or skills, makes your body grow or simply understands new skills and develops skills than in the past.

What is evolution

Table of Contents

Many people today have a limited idea of what evolution is. This, as explained in the previous summary, is the course where living beings or objects of nature undergo a successive transformation, in order to adapt to the difficulties that the world imposes on them. Given the situation, it can be said that past generations have been reproducing, creating new species and subdividing their different families in the same kingdom. It can also be said that the process of what evolution is, refers to the ability to progress and develop skills from the past.

Evolution history

Biological evolution has existed since ancient times and has originated the different forms of life that exist on earth through a common ancestor. In prehistoric times, unicellular organisms inhabited a certain space and when they were forced to abandon it, they did not survive. However, the strongest focused on changing their quality of life, so that they could adapt to any environment and thus become multicellular organisms. This process was continuous until reason and conscience were present, leading to the need to create the colonies.

The evolution of man

The origin of man denotes very different perspectives, the scientific view maintains that the human species is the result of what is the biological evolution of all living organisms, while the religious view conceives that the origin of man is due to the will of certain gods. Next, we will explain the most accepted theory today.

Through the years, the evolution of man has been marked by a series of biological and anatomical transformations. This process began when a population of primates divided into two independent lineages. One of them remained in the trees while the other decided to migrate to the plain. Motivated by environmental changes, the generations of this last lineage were forced to stand up on their front legs and free their hind legs (which would later become their hands) to be able to hold their tools. The study of the evolution of man was made thanks to archeology and paleontology.

Species that evolved

Thanks to studies by Charles Darwin and the Origin of Species Theory, evolutionary theory supplanted creationism, offering a picture of the past associated with a natural world and providing a human explanation based on its origins. It can also be said that there is evidence of biological evolution, among them we find the fossil record, the adjustment that living beings experienced in relation to the environment in which they lived and their similarities between species. Thus, it can be said that human evolution arose from the following biological ensembles.

  • Australopithecus africanus. They were the first to walk upright and lived approximately three million years. Due to climate change they were forced to abandon the vegan diet and started hunting, thus giving rise to the genus Homo.
  • Homo habilis. This species was characterized by making stone instruments and building huts. Thanks to his skill with tools, he managed to survive and continued to give continuity to our development.
  • Homo Erectus. They spread in Europe, Asia and Oceania. They made more complex stone tools, discovered fire, covered their bodies with animal skins, and also required articulate language.
  • Homo neanderthalensis. They were characterized by being skilled, they made weapons and coats with animal remains. They buried the dead in caves and already presented rudimentary verbal communication. They coexisted with the first modern men and the reason for their extinction is unknown.
  • Homo Sapien. He is what is known today as modern man. Its appearance is totally different from that of its ancestors and it has the ability to associate ideas around its needs. It spread throughout the land and developed skills in painting and sculpture.

Theory of evolution

The theory of evolution was carried out by a group of naturalistic researchers who gathered information on the flora and fauna of various areas of the planet. These had a set of scientific evidence and explained that living beings have an origin and that they were changing little by little. The origin of the theory of evolution dates back to the year 1859, with the publication of Darwin's book "The Origin of Species." In it, Darwin explains that descendants inherit characters from generation to generation and that there is differentiated reproduction in the individuals of a population.

The publication of the book "The Origin of Species" caused a great impact and the theory of evolution based on transformism, adaptation and natural selection was universally accepted and is still valid today. Consequently, Darwin's observations are the basis of modern evolutionary synthesis.

Other examples of evolution

Human evolution has allowed man to have a wide knowledge of his ancestors and has served as a support to continue developing his skills, in order to make him a more productive and self-confident person. Today, there is a notable difference between modern man and the man of many decades ago since, thanks to the constant progress of science, he has been involved in the world of technology.

The history of technology is related to the history of science, because the number of discoveries that have been made over the years, this has allowed information to expand, creating new things and conducting more research for the development of new ideas and improvement of the quality of life.

Evolution of technology

Today, there is a theory developed by the philosopher Radovan Richta, who describes the evolution of technology as a slow process that experienced exponential growth after the Second World War. As time passed, the world changed more rapidly and these changes began to collide with established structures, with the way of working and with the habits of life of many societies. One of the first applications that marked a new stage in the development of our species, was carried out in the Agricultural Revolution and as a result, the stabilization of agriculture from which society was organized was achieved.

In the industrial revolution, knowledge was used to create new utensils, products and machinery, so that man could increase his knowledge and meet his needs. Likewise, it became known that oil and electricity were the main characteristics of the productivity revolution. A few years later, the scientific-technical revolution began and it was in charge of manipulating biotechnology, communications, computing, robotics and the development of new materials.

The various technological discoveries that have occurred throughout our history have improved people's lives and allowed us to have a fixed residence instead of leading a nomadic life. It is important to know that thanks to the evolution of technology we have had the ability to develop businesses, managing to enjoy materials and food. In addition, the internet has also made possible a greater knowledge of the environment in which we live and has helped to make the best of what it can provide.

Evolution of the flag of Mexico

Although we do not imagine it, the evolution of the flag of Mexico originated from pre-Hispanic times, when the populations denoted emblems of their rulers. With the War of Independence led by the priest Miguel Hidalgo, a banner with the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe was used and this was considered the first national flag. Currently the flag is in the History Museum of the Castle of Chapultepec.

Months later than the beginning of the independence movement, insurgents adopted a rectangular flag colored blue with a crowned eagle at the center and over a bridge that had 3 arches and an inscription that read, " with eyes and the nails, equally victorious. " Jose Maria Morelos y Pavón identified his troops with this flag and his men wandered with this insignia in the southern part of the country.

When Mexico finally reached its position as an independent nation, Agustín de Iturbide's army designated the first flag that carried the colors green, which signified Independence; the white, which meant religion and the red, which meant the Union. Its stripes were placed diagonally and it was adorned with a crown in the center that represented the transition to the first Mexican empire, where Iturbide himself proclaimed himself emperor.

In November 1821, Iturbide ordered that the colors of the flag remain permanently adopted, but with the stripes arranged vertically. This design featured a crowned eagle that was in the center on top of a nopal. After the independence movement, Iturbide made the flag official and in 1822 decreed the perpetuity of its colors.

In the empire of Maximilian I of Habsburg, the flag was redesigned with vertical stripes of green, white and red, with the shield of an eagle that is positioned in the entire center; it also had four crowned eagles in each corner. This flag was in force until the year 1867 and at the time of the reform the liberals used their own flag with the eagle facing left while the conservatives had an eagle facing the right.

The second national flag came into force with the mandate of President Benito Juárez, in this the four eagles that were positioned in the corners were eliminated and in the center an eagle without a crown was shown devouring a snake. After the death of President Juárez, Porfirio Díaz appears and maintains the flag with the same scheme but changing some colors of the shield. Later, President Venustiano Carranza made some changes to break with the government of Porfirio Díaz and the flag showed an eagle in profile that made reference to the Republic.

The flag that is known today has not always been as it is appreciated today, this national flag underwent different transformations until it adopted a beautiful shape composed of three stripes of green, white and red. Through the evolution of the flag of Mexico, it can be seen that unlike previous banners, it now contains a national shield that is positioned in the center, which consists of an eagle that is in profile on a cactus while it devours a snake.. In 1968, President Gustavo Díaz Ordaz ordered no further modifications to the flag and since then his decree has been respected.

Evolution of the internet

It is no secret to anyone that the internet has become a global network that is capable of connecting to other devices to share information. Its popularity increases more and more due to its capacity to store data of all kinds and that it is accessible to any public. Throughout the evolution of the internet, the computing space has been driven by researchers, pedagogues and different individuals to meet the needs of humanity. The compromise of state policies has fostered economic growth and created virtual communities, so that long-distance and social ties can be maintained.

The beginnings of this virtual network date back to the 60s and the experiments carried out for this project were full of many challenges for researchers, but it was also a response to the political and economic reality that was affected by the Cold War, due to the global increase in shortages, transportation and communications. Many people believe that the internet was created for highly military purposes, but this is not entirely true. The internet arose from the need to establish a secure means of communication capable of resisting nuclear attacks and in this way ARPANET was born.

ARPANET was the first seed of the internet and its foundations took shape years later. However, the galactic network was also one of the first creations in the idea of the internet and was developed by Joseph CR Licklider with the help of the founders of BBN technologies, in 1963. In the course of this research they managed to send a message from one computer to another and this phenomenon is known as electronic mail.

Starting in the 90s, the first search engines began to come to life and Netscape was the first of them. Years later, companies like Google, Yahoo, Amazon and eBay were born. While in the early 2000s the first online social networking services such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter were developed.

After a century of research and news, the evolution of the internet has spread throughout the world and has allowed access to information, data and news generated from the most remote places. In addition, it is economically accessible because a wide range of activities can be carried out at minimal cost, for example, carrying out certain investigations, conducting banking, making video calls, buying products, etc. In addition to this, the internet does not need specific knowledge, with understanding how the search base works and clicking on the various links to access websites is enough.

The evolution imposed by technology also offers us a new space of constant discoveries in different areas such as industry, administration, commerce, health, education and services. The innovation rate increases successively and with it the changes and opportunities experienced by the social networks in which individuals operate. The development brought about by technology positively transforms lifestyles and work and professional activities.

Telephone evolution

One of the greatest inventions in the history of mankind is the telephone. This incredible device was created by Antonio Meucci in 1854 and is a device that allows communication and transmission of acoustic signals over long distances. To talk about the evolution of the telephone, it is necessary to know the different phases through which it was submitted and that they will be explained below:

Since its original inception, progressive improvements have been made to both the telephone instrument and network systems. With regard to this artifact, it can be noted that at first they were bulky and were only used in the comfort of houses due to their large size. However, it was reduced in size over the years and became an important factor in the acquisition.

These new devices are used to make calls and send text messages, they even have multimedia and entertainment functions. Thanks to the evolution of the telephone, these new models, in addition to providing the basic functions, have a system to which different applications can be installed that make our life easier.

An interesting fact is that the first wireless call took place in 1973 thanks to engineer Martin Cooper. Years later, technological advances allowed the first mobile phones to be developed, with which you could communicate from anywhere and keep the call for approximately 30 minutes. From then on, in the 90s there were already countless brands that marketed these devices, some of them were more compact and had a cover that protected them from external damage.

In 2007, businessman Steve Jobs revealed the first iPhone model. This mobile device had a touch screen and effective internet connectivity. It also had a built-in camera that allowed taking different photographs and even had multimedia messages (with this, images and sounds could be included in conversations). In that same year, more than 1.9 trillion messages were registered worldwide.

Currently, the transmission system used by cell phones allows different types of communication, from a traditional call to the possibility of sending videos, text messages, audios and even accessing the internet through a telephone line. To ensure that these devices are connected, antennas known as "Towers" or "Base Station" are used that cover a wide geographical area.

Nowadays the USB telephone is also known and it allows making calls through VoIP. The advantage of this technology is that information can be transmitted over the internet, using satellite communication services or regular mobile lines.

The innovations of cell phones allow cutting-edge mobile systems to run, in this way, they are covering different spaces such as: education, culture, sports, marketing. Users also obtain a series of benefits through the use of certain applications, because they access the information easily and quickly without the need to enter the data in each of the accesses. Another advantage is the ability to make purchases quickly anywhere.

Finally, we must not forget that many of the applications become an important element of entertainment, since many of these new options take users out of a sedentary lifestyle and speed up brain activity and even intervene in household chores.
