The word plunder comes from the Latin "exspoliatĭo", "ōexspoliatiōnis", described as the action and effect of plundering and this derives from the Latin "exspoliāre" or "expolium" which alludes to remove with violence or with malice and infamy. Therefore, it can be said that the word plunder is that action and the consequence of depriving a person or individual something that belongs to him with the particularity of using unjustified violence to achieve said task; that is, when a subject or entity appropriates in a violent, forced, forced or unfair way something that belongs to another. This entry has a practically unique meaning of a negative nature assuming the abusive use of something and that alsoIt can be used as a synonym for predation, looting, robbery, especially if it is related to the exploitation of resources.
At present, the term is widely used in Venezuela to refer to the expropriations carried out by the socialist government that prevails in this territory, which according to various sources, many of these expropriations were unjustified and forced; therefore they describe this government as a "regime of plunder".
On the other hand, there is archaeological and artistic looting, which is that crime or offense that is based on the appropriation of historical, artistic and archaeological heritage, carried out by professionals who seek to profit, by amateur and inexperienced archaeologists, collectors or tourists; without the consent or license of the pertinent authorities of a State that watch over said places and safeguard each one of the existing patrimonies in them.
