It comes from the Latin word "Mores or Morallis", whose meaning is "Residence or house". It is the organized set of rules, values, duties and norms that will regulate the coexistence between men, that is, they will determine the way in which men relate to each other. These values and norms will be accepted as correct or adequate, depending on the historical moment in which the society lives.

In that case, ethics or moral philosophy becomes a light that allows us to discern between what is correct and what is not ethically correct. Values that are not integrated in the context of a specific religion, but in the context of the natural law that governs what is convenient for human beings according to their dignity and nature.

The doctrines of the philosophers of all times considered fundamental the treatment of moral principles, which are those that originate the most important questions of thinkers.

Social contradictions, politics, justice, human passions, selfishness in the world, awakened the need for philosophers to inquire about the nature of morality.

Morality also has its basis in the freedom of the human being, from which a person can perform good works, but also has the freedom to carry out unjust attitudes. Moral reflection helps the human being to become aware of his own responsibility when working to grow as a person, always having clear the principle of truth and good.

Philosophy as a moral reflection is very important since justice in the act helps the human being to perfect himself and achieve the good life as Aristotle would say. But in addition, moral philosophy also exposes the responsibility that human beings have to contribute to bring hope to the society in which they live, since through individual actions an influence is also exerted on the common good.

From this point of view, moral philosophy pursues the common good of society because the good of the group also nurtures the well-being of the individual.

This ethical reflection helps to contribute to the order of society. This moral philosophy takes as fundamental principles what are the principles of human behavior. These ethical norms dignify the person with values such as personal improvement, self-love and respect for others, the principle of duty and the pursuit of happiness. An essential moral principle is to remember that the end does not always justify the means.
