Anonim

It is a general conflict that can arise in one or more territories of the world. War is always made up of a large group of people who confront each other with a high level of violence, being able to use brutal force, firearms, bombs or any other element that serves to inflict damage. The main objective of the war is to cause the death of the adversary without caring that the life of the community is also claimed. The destruction of all kinds of material goods or specific entities is also sought.

What is war

Table of Contents

This is a social and political armed conflict, classed as one of the most serious that exists, it is one of the most mentioned issues among international groups, either to avoid it or to generate it. War has been present in humanity since the beginning of life, at first they were fights between tribes, then for conquests and finally to gain territories and power.

The wars most remembered by all of humanity have been the First World War, the Second World War, the Cold War and the Vietnam War. The purpose of all these conflicts was totally varied.

In each of these conflicts there were alarming numbers of deaths, theft of resources and destruction of private and public property. The actions taken by the subjects that participate in the contests are related to the territorial behavior of the hominids, a tribe of primates whose main characteristic was territoriality. They tended to be quite aggressive towards other primates of their species or different from theirs. They became extinct over the years and only homo sapiens survived, which evolved to become what they are now.

Causes of war

Many have come to the conclusion that looking for the causes that have generated the wars registered in recent years is to create controversy and encourage many others to arise, but this is something that cannot be ignored and must be report. According to historians, there are two strong and verifiable causes for which the conflicts in the world have arisen and, from there, the general causes are born. The first is due to immediate causes, in them, there are discussions in periods prior to the armed disputes. They are generally the triggers of the conflict.

Then, there are the distant causes, those in which there are permanent discussions and the structure of the solutions deteriorates little by little. In this aspect, it is very difficult to dictate a way of solutions, which is why, sooner or later, a war that was predestined from the beginning is fueled. From these two aspects, 3 more causes that generate conflicts are born, all of them well known and defined by the world: economic, political and religious reasons. In the first, there is talk of an economic destabilization in a given territory and this causes the people to take to the streets.

Upon leaving, the confrontations vary between people against people and then against the security organizations that seek to normalize the situation. This cause has always been present in the lawsuits raised in the world and has a lot to do with political causes. The latter are nothing more than the ideologies of government that are intended to shape and that one or several groups opposed to these wishes dismiss and reject. This cause was the trigger for the First World War, the Second World War and the Syrian War. Lastly, religious causes.

It is about the faithful and blind defense of the religious beliefs of the different territories of the world. In these cases, it seeks to authoritatively impose a creed and make citizens practice it, otherwise, they will suffer punishment. These types of causes have been seen throughout history, beginning with the Middle Ages and ending in the confrontations of countries such as Syria, Libya, Nigeria and the Central African Republic. There are institutions and organizations that often argue to avoid conflicts and reach friendly agreements, but this issue is difficult to cope with and, even more, to calm.

Elements of war

For a war to be carried out, a series of elements are needed, which characterize it and which are the essence of the conflict, starting with the weapons used, the field that will be used to carry out the battle. between the sides, the interests that are sought and those that are at stake in the field, the army that will go in combat instead of the cause of the conflict themselves, the investment that is made, because yes, a fairly high investment must be made and, finally, the results and consequences suffered.

Weapons

These are specific weapons that serve and function especially in situations of conflict between one or more groups of different kinds. Among these weapons, there are those that pass a 20 mm caliber, automatic firearms, their ammunition, bombs (regardless of whether they are homemade), everything that falls under the category of bomb is part of the list of weapons of war. Also included are the sets, that is, the accessories of the weapons and their ammunition.

The battlefield

This is only a piece of land or territory in which the armed conflict is carried out or carried out. Generally, the offensive army does not make the decision of what the battlefield will be, since it is only responsible for looking for its counterpart and stalking it until the combat begins. The defensive army has this in its favor and uses it wisely, so that the site chosen is not one where valuable material goods can be lost.

Interests

The contests always have a hidden interest. Nations always mention the interest of economic and political freedom, but, far from all that, they also have economic interests, wealth, natural goods, etc. This element may vary according to the offensive group or nation.

The armies

The army is one of the key elements in armed conflicts between one territory and another. They are the ones who face each other in combat, being able to have bold and truthful training on strategy on the battlefield. In the fighting there are two types of armies, the invasion, which leaves its country of origin to conquer other territories; and the blockade, which defends and protects the population of the attacked territory. This does not mean that the other types of armed forces do not have a leading role in conflicts, for example, relief, auxiliary and besieging armies.

The investment

In armed conflicts, although it is not created, a fairly high type of investment has always been made. This consists of the purchase and distribution of weapons throughout the territory subject to wars, in addition to their ammunition, transport, army, food and everything necessary to survive or end the lives of people regardless of the side. There is talk of millions of dollars, a capital that all nations manage for extreme cases such as conflicts between territories, regardless of the reason or cause that generated it.

Results

In all conflicts there are results, some favorable and others more negative than expected. The immediate result of an armed conflict between two or more territories is always the death of thousands of people and the loss of real estate and important entities, but favorable results can also be obtained such as the freedom of a country, the partial or total transformation of a territory on an economic, social and even political level.

Consequences

the cost of these fights is high. Thousands or millions of lives are claimed in each attack, but in addition, there are the total or partial disappearances of cities, the breakdown of international relations, an economic crisis that is difficult to attack and stabilize. The consequences are severe, and no matter how important the reason for the conflict, in the end, a war will always be remembered as an extreme that should never have been.

Types of war

Just as there are causes by which armed conflicts are generated, there are also the types of war. Each has its own characteristics, not just those experienced in the three greatest wars in history.

  • World Wars: this is one of the most remembered, precisely because it involves more than two nations. It is a warlike conflagration in which there are too many losses (human and structural) and many interests at stake.
  • Civil wars: these are clashes between two political parties belonging to the same territory, although there are also cases in which more than two parties confront each other, raising the opinion of citizens and exercising violence in society. There is usually international aid.
  • Psychological wars: this aspect is known as a type of political conflict in which all kinds of means are used to inflict a negative reaction on the population. It is a kind of manipulation so that citizens act in a certain way against a specific party.
  • Climate wars: it is a type of warlike conflict generated by climate change. The main cause is the scarcity of natural resources. Being involved in this, people have the only option to protest in the streets, but these protests, far from being peaceful, turn violent, even practicing genocide.
  • Biological wars: this aspect is quite complicated and serious, since it involves weapons that contain a series of viruses that infect the environment and, consequently, people. In this way, mortal damage is achieved in armed armies and civilians who are on the radar of impact of weapons.
  • Electronic wars: it is about the use of non-violent methods to handle, limit, exploit and even prevent the use of different objects of electronic and technological origin, causing total or partial destabilization in a given territory.
  • Nuclear wars: in this type of conflict, means and tools of mass destruction are used, that is, nuclear weapons (high-range explosives).
  • Trench wars: here, the armies mobilize through the combat zone and create light excavations, placing all kinds of objects that could be fortifications.
  • Reform Wars: This was one of the wars that took place in Mexico from 1858 to 1861. The reform war began because of a struggle for political ideals.

War games

War games simulate large-scale confrontations or conflicts, however, it can also represent operational, global or tactical strategy. These games have rules, technological and military simulations. It is important to note that in this kind of games physical violence is not necessarily used between the participants.

In this case, the war games are divided by types, the first being the board game. In these, the games par excellence are chess, strategy, diplomacy and historical simulation. The second are those of committee, in which two groups are created that mark positions, both supervised by a judge.

There are also the miniature games, in which different types of terrain are created in models, all in small sizes. There are also collector cards, conflict simulation video games (which are used virtually and which are gaining momentum worldwide today). And finally, sports games. Each of them has played a leading role in people's childhood, adolescence and adulthood, starting with war games without internet to those that can be found online.

Consequences of a war

It is difficult to talk about the consequences that surround armed conflicts without mentioning the material damage, the human losses, the deficit in the quality of life of the people and the socioeconomic problems that unfold not only by the countries involved, but also in those that, in one way or another, they suffered collateral damage. Wars always generate an exodus of nationals, promote migration, reduce entrepreneurship and limit the entry and exit of basic necessities to the territories involved.

The most important wars in the world

Of course and as part of history, it is extremely important to highlight and mention those conflicts that took place throughout history and that have marked a before and after for the world, both in positive and negative aspects.

First World War

It was called the great war, it began in 1914 and ended in 1918. It had the name of world, because it involved more than two countries, in fact, they were the largest powers in the world. These were Germany, Austria, Hungary, the Russian Empire, the United Kingdom, and France. It culminated after Germany finally accepted the terms and conditions of the armistice. One of the methods of attack was to search for warplanes.

WWII

This was undoubtedly the most shocking fight and with the participation of more countries in history. It was the first time that powerful nuclear weapons were used, destroying entire cities, in addition, it left a death toll of 2.5 of the population. On this occasion, Germany, Japan and Italy participated as offensive front and France, Poland, Northern Ireland, Great Britain, United Kingdom, Canada, Union of South Africa, Dominion of Newfoundland, New Zealand, Denmark, Belgium, Norway, Kingdom of Greece, The Netherlands, the Soviet Union, the United States, China and some Latin American countries.

French Revolution

This was a social and political conflict that affected other nations in Europe in parallel. The violence was excessive. It all started in 1789 and ended in 1799.

The Hundred Years War

Everything was based on the search for independence by France, as there were certain lands in French territory ruled by the English. The armed dispute began in 1337 and culminated in 1453. England lost this conflict and all her troops had to withdraw from France.

Vietnam War

It all started with the premise of preventing Vietnam from uniting as a new communist government. It had the support of the United States along with its allies, all against the liberation front of Vietnam, China (which used the strategies of the book The Art of War) and the Soviet Union. This is said to have been a major contest for the Cold War period.

Russian Revolution

It arose in 1917 where Russia had a very abrupt change of government, going from being an imperial government to being formalized and solidified as a socialist one.

Gulf war

It was a fully authorized contest by the United Nations against Iraq. This happened in 1990 and ended in 1991, at least 34 countries participated, led by the USA.

Cold War

It was a contest held just after the Second World War started in 1945 and inevitably lasted until 1991. It was based on social, political, economic, scientific, informational and military confrontations. It is called this way because the two registered parties did not take violent actions against their adversary.

Cakes war

It is a conflict in which Mexico and France were protagonists. The Cake War took place on April 16, 1839 and ended in 1839. It was Mexico that started the fight by announcing that it would not follow the demands demanded by France. Before long, France opened fire on Mexico.
