What is dialectical materialism? »Its definition and meaning

Anonim

The dialectical materialism is a philosophy that is based on the link between knowledge and the objective material world. Its greatest precursors were Karl Marx and F. Engels.

Dialectical materialism is so called because it is structured in the biological unity of materialism and dialectics. It is considered materialistic because it is based on the identification of matter as the absolute foundation of the world, and taking into account consciousness as belonging to highly structured matter, as something that only concerns the brain, as something unconscious of the objective world. It is called dialectical because it admits the link that exists worldwide of the objects and phenomena of the world, as well as the movements and progress of this as a consequence of the internal disagreements that intervene within it.

The materialism takes into account social being not only as an anticompetitive object to man but also subjectively, taking it as a practical activity historical and concrete of the human being, this idea of practice gave him a scientific basis for the hypothesis of the knowledge, to which Marxism arrived from the social historical point of view instead of the inaccurate approach of contemplative materialism, which considered the connection between men as something purely natural.

Dialectical materialism is based on the recognition with primacy of matter, leaving consciousness as a secondary part and considering the world as matter in motion, it also considers consciousness as an activity of the mind, that is, consciousness is going to determine externally to the natural and social existing and elaborated in the brain.
