Materialism is a philosophical current that arose to oppose idealism. The main postulate of materialism is that the thing exists without precedent other than its very existence, regardless of whether it is linked to the senses available in living beings. For its part, idealism resorts to the belief that the thing cannot exist if there is no one who perceives it or is aware of its presence. One of the most well-known questions around this philosophical dispute is: If a tree falls in the middle of the jungle with no one near it, does its fall produce any noise?
The materialism established a theory that the origin of the universe came from a material element, existing, and that from the interaction of the molecules present on this object, emerged everything else, in the same manner was applied in analog form to the man, saying that the man who is formed is made from a material element, which creates the soul. This essential element is destroyed when man ceases to exist, dies. In subsequent civilizations after the postulates of Democritus (the main philosopher who studied matter), and Aristotle, (who affirmed that the initial raw material existed before anything else), the existence of a supreme being, aGod responsible for the creation of man and life on earth. The theology and currents derived from this generated much confusion that opposed the philosophical currents as materialism, which demonstrated a clear study of the origin organic and scientist man as a multicellular organisms that evolved into a biotope that evolved over the years and not a being derived from an omnipotent and superior presence that created everything in 7 days.
The materialists were persecuted at the time of the Renaissance, considered heretics and sorcerers for considering that the designs of the Catholic Church, a religious institution that supported the postulate of idealism with God and the crown over the king did not adapt to a scientific reality and in process of being checked. Today, faith and agency have made societies a set of free thoughts capable of analyzing and being aware of their origin.
