MB or megabyte is a computer term, which refers to megabytes or the amount of computer data, which is equal to one million byte. The word mega is of Greek origin, megas, which gives the meaning of large, its symbol is MB in capital letters since in the abbreviation Mb corresponds to megabit, describing as such the capacity of the computer or hard disk, giving thus the used storage space of the data used, in the memory of the operating system used. It has two valuations one is the binary one, which is used in a normal computer, they make up a megabyte by 1,048,576 bytes and a decimal one that makes up a megabyte of 1,000,000 bytes.
It is used to define the terms of computing by telecommunications engineers, such as some manufacturers of storage systems, who when seeing the acronym MB, it is understood that they are talking about the capacity of megabytes, making this word the more accurate abbreviation of it. Data compression and file formats vary, one megabyte of information equals six seconds of audio on an uncompressed compact disc. The minimum storage unit is 1 byte, and the largest is 1,024 saganbyte, which is equal to one jotabyte. The functions of MB is to measure the size and capacity of a file, such as the speed it has when it is downloaded or transferred to other domains.
