The term Memory is used to designate the capacity or faculty that the mind has, through a process that occurs in the brain (called memory in the same way) of storing, saving, retaining or preserving images, sounds or situations from the past of the be human so that they can be remembered, and that they can be recognized as such.
The memory is able to keep a whole life of information on the subject, because from birth and cried for the first time feed us, and so we know what is the way to draw attention from our parents. From one perspective it is said that memory is responsible for the future actions of human beings because through it we can remember all our personal data, as we call it, where we live, study, etc. Thanks to it, we remember what is good and bad, what we like, what we need, in short it is our storage of personal information.
It is classified into two fundamental types, in long-term memory, which is where everything related to the information that we have acquired throughout our lives, important data, learning, among others, is stored. And the short-term memory where the record of the daily activities of recent events that are not of great relevance but that we remember in the same way because we need them only for a period of time. Included in this classification is the way or the way in which we can remember, and it is through the senses, which is called sensory memory, where we remember what we see, hear, feel, smell or taste.
On the other hand, in the field of computing this term is also widely used, and in the same way it is to refer to a device capable of storing a certain amount of useful information for its user. In this technological field , these virtual data such as images, music, video, files, among others, are stored in a space intended for this purpose, known as ROM Memory, and in a memory called RAM they retain the fast access data that facilitate the process running the system, both can be related to long-term and short-term memory analogically.
