What is furniture? »Its definition and meaning

Anonim

A term that refers to each object or element with a specific purpose that can be moved or transferred from one place to another, that is, a movable body. This statement comes from the Latin "mobilis" which means "that can be transported" made up of the verb "movere" which means to move, and the suffix "bile" which means possibility. Furniture is also understood to be all kinds of belongings or goods made or designed with a resistant material that are used to decorate houses, apartments, offices, etc. and the characteristic shared by said goods is precisely their category or condition of object that can be moved, because it is important to note that other objects such as doors, windows, floors, ceilings, among others, do not have this particularity.

In ancient Rome, in the laws of that time, assets were divided into furniture and real estate, that is, possessions that could be moved such as furniture, curtains, tools, etc. and those that did not, such as houses and other types of constructions, and immovable goods had more value than movable ones. The furniture was created by the human being to fulfill and occupy a specific place within where it unfolds and to fulfill the role of giving greater comfort to man.

All these objects that can be transferred can also be called movable property, and among these can be income or pensions. These goods can be classified as fungible are those that cannot be used according to their nature if they are not consumed like money, these are also known as consumable goods; and the non-expendable are all those that are not consumed, as long as they are put to good use.
