What is neurohypophysis? »Its definition and meaning

Anonim

The Neurohypophysis is a region of the pituitary located in the upper part of the pituitary, in a matter of position, it is located contrary to the adenohypophysis. Due to its location and its relationship with an important center for the secretion of hormones that underpin the development of the body, it is assumed that the Neurohypophysis also contributes to this work, however, the value given to the Neurohypophysis is completely alien to the functioning of the pituitary. The Neurohypophysis is located below the hypothalamus, so, instead of being a gland secreting hormones, it serves as a storehouse for those secreted by the hypothalamus.

Remembering that the hypothalamus is mainly responsible for the process of Homeostasis, a function by which the body absorbs as much protein as possible from food and converts them into capacities for the development of the body. This process is closely related to the hormones secreted by the pituitary, so it is clear that the neurohypophysis does contribute to the development of the human body, indirectly, but it does.

Homeostasis is a highly complex and determining system in the development of humans, that is why the glands related to growth are included in the process, however, in addition to this, through the Neurohypophysis, the hypothalamus secretes ADH (Antidiuretic Hormone) it is responsible for determining a control for blood pressure. This hormone, also called vasopressin, represents a strong vasoconstriction for the renal system depending on the external state. It also regulates the force with which the mammary glands expel milk, through the stimulation of myoepithelial cells which are arranged in the skin.

Another important aspect in which the Neurohypophysis collaborates is in the stimulation of orgasm in the sexual act, as well as in the contractions and pressures that occur in the delivery of a female, at this particular moment, hormones play a very important role. important because its production capacity in conjunction with the pressure and the danger of the state can cause anomalies and differences at the time of the fetus' delivery.
