In religion, Nirvana is a state of happiness and peace that human beings can achieve through meditation. It is one of the most important principles of Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism, as it represents the maximum state that can be reached. There is a concept, designed by the economist Harold Demsetz, called the "Nirvana fallacy", which poses the situation in which an individual makes comparisons between real and imaginary options. Likewise, there is also a principle of psychoanalysis, developed by Barbara Low, in which the unconscious urge to suppress arousal is described.
In Buddhism, Nirvana is perceived as the highest position of being, a state in which you say goodbye to all the suffering you carried on your shoulders, but it is also the end of your own individuality and what it carries (body, mind); by becoming a pure, abstract creature, it becomes part of a whole. Meanwhile, Hinduism has a definition similar to the one mentioned above, but it uses the metaphor of the candle, in which Nirvana is said to be the extinct flame that represents all existing human evils (lust, hatred, envy …); as in Buddhism, the abstract being becomes part of a higher environment. In Jainism, on the other hand, this state is the one that finally liberates, the individual who experiences it, from Karma, that is, it passes to a spiritual plane.
The Nirvana fallacy, likewise, is a theory that projects the behavior of the human being at the time of refuting a claim. The point is that, while preparing the argument to reject the idea of the other, a series of circumstances are used that are unrealistic; In short, it seeks to improve reality by presenting obviously advantageous solutions. Regarding the psychoanalytic principle, Freud, who adopted it, speaks of it as that primitive need to repress any sexual desire, which is presented by external or internal stimuli. Lastly, Nirvana is the name of an American Grunge band, known, in large part, by its leader, Kurt Cobain.
