What is paranormal? »Its definition and meaning

Anonim

This is the label given to all those phenomena that are outside of "normal" events or that can be scientifically explainable and verifiable. Generally, these tend to lack any scientific approval, since there is no evidence that supports, even, the existence or realization of such extraordinary events; therefore, their analyzes are often considered pseudoscientific. Some authors propose that the paranormal is that which cannot be studied making use of the laws established by current sciences, being, for some, this an indispensable characteristic that the paranormal must possess.

This is one of the topics that has caused the most curiosity in the community since time immemorial. It is almost always related to what are the apparitions, the spirits, the energy masses and other traditional concepts. However, the paranormal is not just limited to this. In fact, there is a classification of phenomena, where they are grouped into two different categories, such as: knowledge phenomena (related to the mind and extraordinary capacities with it, such as telepathy) and phenomena with physical effects (ghosts or, with respect to humans, levitation). Most of these can be, if real, proofdefinitive existence of beings or energies that accompany human beings.

The parapsychology, meanwhile, is the discipline that is responsible for studying, in accordance with the tax in each field scientist, these phenomena. The scientific community often discredits the work of parapsychologists, since their entire work is based on using pseudoscientific tools, which will detract from the value of the document, research, among others.
