Prezista comes commercially in tablets of 75mg, 150mg, 600mg and 800mg. It also comes as a 100mg / ml oral suspension. Always take the pill at the same time with food. Shake the oral suspension well before use and use the dosing syringe that comes with the medicine. The application of this drug must be under medical supervision.
For adults who have not been treated before, the recommended dose is 800mg once a day, for adults who have been treated previously, the dose is 600mg twice a day. Children and adolescents will receive doses that depend on their body weight and will vary between 375 and 600mg twice a day. It should not be forgotten that each dose of prezista must be accompanied by ritonavir (HIV protease inhibitor).
This drug was manufactured by the pharmaceutical company Tibotec Pharmaceuticals and was approved in 2006 as an antiretroviral drug for HIV-positive people, its application has not been studied in children under 3 years of age, therefore it should not be taken by them.
The side effects when applying this medicine in both adults and children are: diarrhea, headaches, fever, nausea, cold, and in some cases rashes.
