A research project is considered to be a plan that is developed before the completion of a research project. Its objective is to present, in a methodical and organized way, a set of data and information about a problem in order to formulate a hypothesis for its resolution.
This type of research is carried out on the basis of a scientific methodology, which gives them rigor and validity. They can be developed not only in the area of science, but also in the humanities, technology, the arts, political and legal sciences, social sciences, etc.
Each research project consists of a work plan or activity, where the duration of the research process is foreseen. In this way, the researcher works according to a schedule that must be respected and followed.
For an investigation to be valid, it is necessary to determine the study sample (for example, a specific population from a specific territory). On the other hand, it is necessary to introduce a sampling technique (eg probability type).
Regarding the technical aspects, it is necessary to use variable measurement scales, which can be qualitative or quantitative. On the other hand, it is necessary to establish a data analysis plan, evaluation reports, bibliographic references according to established guidelines, material resources, among others.
All projects are managed based on five main phases: preparation, planning, execution, monitoring and delivery. With agile methodologies, many of these stages can be overlapped. Such is the case with continuous planning and execution, delivery and monitoring. In this way, we carry out flexible planning that can adequately weather any setback. As long as we have real control of what happens in the project.
A research project consists of:
• Title
• Approach or formulation of the problem.
• Objectives (general and specific).
• Justification.
• Theoretical framework
• Background
• Hypothesis
• Methodology
• Resources (Materials and economy)
• Schedule of activities.
But nevertheless; Its characteristics are as follows:
• A research project is unique.
• It is temporary since it meets a certain term.
• Form a work team with a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities.
• Has a flexible nature and is managed according to
unforeseen needs or circumstances.
• Has at least three phases: execution planning and delivery.
