Chiropractic is a subdivision of natural medicine which is based on efficiently treating and diagnosing the different mechanical disorders that the locomotor system may present, especially those defects of the spine, based on the ideology that such problems can arise affect the general health of the individual through the nervous system that is why those who support it affirm that its application can improve and renew health. The ideology on which it is centered, some applications and convictions employed by chiropractors are classified as pseudoscience.

Those in charge of applying this science are called chiropractors, they are fundamentally based on applying the necessary corrective measures to relieve neck and back pain, however they assure that their main objective is to alleviate different health conditions, such as problems in the respiratory systems, in the digestive system, sleep disorders, gases in newborns and in the case of women, stomach pains caused by menstruation, etc. However, even today it has not been scientifically proven how effective chiropractic can bein the application of treatments for different health problems, with the exception of the effective treatment of pain in the lower back region, although in this specific case it has not been possible to prove or deny that it is less or more efficient than the solutions offered by conventional medicine.

Since its inception, this science has been in conflict with conventional medicine, because chiropractic supports theories such as vertebral subluxation (displacement of a segment of the spine, causing a large number of pathologies) and innate intelligence (properties of structuring of living beings). Since its inception this pseudoscience has become the center of different discussions and criticisms, an example of this is its founder DD Palmer who was sent to prison for practicing medicine illegally since for conventional medicine chiropractic is not an accepted form of medicine even though its acceptance today is much higher.
