What is resignification? »Its definition and meaning

Anonim

It is used as a way of relocating or reorienting the meaning of something whose meaning has taken on new characteristics in a given context, even outside of itself. For example and without a doubt that the issue of identity is approached by this. Traditions can go through a process of resignification for a subject or social group, to cite an example: the procession of the Divina Pastora in the City of Barquisimeto of the Lara State in Venezuela, like the tradition of religion, is assumed in a meaning distinct or wide.

Likewise, we see the different cultures that through the years have taken on new concepts or have been resignified by their protagonists, to name one of them, the indigenous one. But it is not only at the cultural level that we can speak of resignification, since reforms, new paradigms or schemes are presented in our lives daily and are essential for new management strategies, thus achieving the conceptualization of a new ideology.

For architects, resignification is to re-read a meaning in a deteriorated building that allows them to restore or restructure a facade under a new concept. Nowadays, resignification is applied a lot since different scenarios are presented in the political, economic, social, sports fields among others, in which new conceptions, ideas or proposals that arise from thoughts are given and thus account for that knowledge has its own meanings which makes it possible to enrich and develop new challenges, tasks and proposals in the field of knowledge.
