Anonim

The word clothing is used to define garments made of fabrics or skins, which are used by people to cover their bodies and to protect themselves from the sun, cold, and rain. The concept of clothing in a broader sense also includes: underwear (tights and bras), shirts, pants, stockings, etc.

According to archaeological records, the oldest signs of the existence of clothing consisted of animal skins, hides and leaves, which were wrapped around the body, as a measure of protection against climatic factors. Over time, clothing has undergone endless transformations, most of which have been caused by the discovery of new materials and fabrics.

When it is cold, clothing allows air to circulate around the skin and prevents the cold from coming into contact with it and thus will not present dryness. On sunny days, the fabrics that make up the clothes protect the body from ultraviolet radiation and heat. Now, when there is rain, people wear a type of clothing, called a raincoat, that prevents water from touching the skin.

In addition to fulfilling all the above functions, clothing fulfills another very important one which is related to the aesthetic or decorative factor. The materials used to make clothes are usually very diverse. There are materials of natural origin, such as cotton, silk, leather and synthetic materials such as polyester and lycra.

Clothing is also classified into: ladies' clothing, men's clothing, and children's clothing. Dresses have been, over time, one of the clothes most used by women, the same happens with pants and shirts in men. However, today women prefer jeans pants, since they are one of the most comfortable garments to carry out daily activities. This garment is very popular and is used by both men and women.

Finally there are the so-called bedclothes, these are made up of sheets, bedspreads, blankets that cover the beds and that serve as shelter and decoration.
