Occupational health is known as a group of activities related to multidisciplinary disciplines, its main objective being to protect and maintain at the highest levels the physical, mental and social well-being of workers regardless of their branch of work, for which it uses a series of measures that are in charge of promoting the adaptation of work to men and vice versa. Occupational health has as its main goal, the control of accidents and diseases directly related to the work environment, through the reduction of all those elements that represent a health risk, that is, it is a preventive method. With regard to workers, occupational healthrepresents a great help since it supposes a support to the improvement of the worker and to the maintenance of his capacity within his work environment.
According to the World Health Organization, occupational health is made up of a series of activities and subjects that act in an interdisciplinary way in order to protect health and safety within the workplace and in order to comply with this it is very important maintain control and prevention of accidents, as well as diseases, eradicating all those factors that represent any danger
It is important to point out that occupational health is an activity that has great importance for governments, for this reason they must guarantee the well-being of workers and also compliance with the rules within the workplace. In order to fulfill this objective, it usually conducts inspections on a regular basis in order to determine the conditions in which workers carry out their functions within their work. In the same way, it is also important that the state plays a roleactive within the community in which it intervenes, so that its inhabitants can enjoy physical and mental well-being, since if that is so, they will be able to develop and do their work better, which undoubtedly has an impact on development of the country. In this sense, it is the duty of public health to be alert and well prepared to prevent, diagnose and cure any pathology that occurs.
It should be noted that the precariousness of employment has much to do with occupational health. Since, for example, if a company has its workers without any type of medical coverage and that in addition to this it presents an adequate physical space to be able to work, it poses a great risk to the employee's health.
