The Subtraction is the more technical term that we mean a subtraction basically is an arithmetic operation simple, in which a set is "subtracted" or "Subtract" components. A subtraction implies the direct reduction of a whole, the vaguest example given in elementary school is: If Juan has 4 (Four) apples and María takes 1 (one), he has 3 (Three) left, so that the number of objects decreases.
Subtraction, despite being one of the simplest mathematical operations invented by man, has as everything in arithmetic its study and development of methods, the most common and practical presents us with three variables to which we give the names of " Minuend " that represents the total amount from which the " Subtrahend " will be subtracted, leaving a definitive " Difference " which indicates the total amount after the application of the operation.
When we start our education, they teach us the basic subtraction, in which we have a certain number of objects, from which a smaller quantity will be withdrawn, if the latter equals what we previously called "Minuendo" the result will be 0 (Zero). That is, they represent subtraction or subtraction with a barrier made up of natural numbers, starting from 0 (Zero) to an indeterminate quantity.
As we advance in the understanding of the complexity of mathematics, we find a universe of possibilities, in which the numbers will be accompanied by different devices that break the barrier of natural numbers to give way to the field of real numbers in which we can perform subtractions in which the result or difference is below 0 (Zero) and is extended by a negative infinity that has the same characteristics as the positive one.
We are defining then, an operation is widely used, both in the study of mathematics, and in everyday life, which expands to other horizons and serves as a tool in the application of different topics. Subtraction is also considered a negative addition, since the numbers can also have their own sign and when a negative is added to a positive, a common subtraction results.
