This was proposed by an American neurologist named Roger Sperry, during the year 1969. This showed that the hemispheres of the brain control different functions of the same and perspectives.
Daily activities with walking, running, jumping, playing, reading and writing. The left and right brain hemispheres function equipotentially and synergistically. This means; who carry out their work in a synchronized and harmonious way. That despite the fact that there is a series of specializations in each of the hemispheres, this important organ has the ability to function as a total brain, uniting the different mechanisms of information procedures of both hemispheres.
But nevertheless; if we refer to the diatonic theory of leadership; The authors clearly explain the meaning of this theory: “leadership approach that tries to explain why leaders vary their behavior with different followers”. The above clarifies that the leader has different ways of connecting with each of the collaborators (followers) who share a common goal in a work unit.
The stages of the Dyadic theory are distinguished into four stages of development, namely:
- Vertical dyadic link theory (VDV), which emphasizes the relational conception between the leader and the follower.
- Theory of exchange between the leader and the member (ILM), which establishes the quality of treatment between a leader and each of his followers.
- Team formation, raises a perspective of relationship between the leader and the team.
- Theory of systems and networks, showing the importance of links between levels and structures.
The dual process between leader and follower is influenced by a series of factors that determine the degree of acceptance and identification that both actors have at the individual level. Among them, are involved: skills, abilities, influence, attitudes, behaviors, motivation, etc.
