Agrícola is an adjective that has its origin in the Latin “agricŏla”, and is broken down as follows; “Ager” (field of cultivation), plus the verb “colere” (referring to cultivation) and finally it has a suffix “a” that indicates (the agent that does something). This term is used to refer to all activities related to the activity of cultivating the land, obtaining food and distributing it. Agriculture has long represented an important activity in the development of civilizations and has also represented an act of survival that the individual has adopted for millions of years.
In the middle of the 18th century, the agricultural revolution arises in “Great Britain”, where machinery was implemented for the first time that helped to speed up the harvesting and planting process. Thanks to this revolution, new technological inventions arose that are implemented today in the agricultural process.
The machinery in this type of activity is used in the agricultural field to speed up the process and improve cultivation techniques; Among the most used machinery we have the tractor, rototiller and the combine or reaper. In addition to these machines, there are agricultural equipment (devices designed to open furrows in the earth, fumigate and fertilize the soil) and tools (instruments for tilling, weeding, removing, transporting, etc.).
Sometimes the term agricultural sector is confused with the agrarian one, and the first is everything related to agriculture to its implements, machinery and products of plant origin that are obtained through cultivation. The second term includes the parts of the agricultural sector, because it includes the economic activities of the field and livestock.
