Organic agriculture had its beginnings during the 1940s, as a solution to the industrialization of agricultural production. At present, organic agriculture has been heavily regulated, especially in countries like Japan, or the European Union, where a series of specific certifications is needed to be able to sell these products.

The reason why certain people prefer to consume organic food is in the positive results it has given to their health; especially to cancer patients, who by medical recommendation should eat a healthy diet, without consuming foods with chemical additives.

According to studies carried out on people and animals fed with organic products, they showed real effects on their health, in the same way the application of alternative cancer therapies, have obtained satisfactory results, based on the exclusive consumption of organic food.

For the cultivation of this type of food, fertilization systems are used, through the use of compost that return the nutrients that are wasted to the soil. To combat pests in crops, natural products are used that neutralize and attack organisms that can damage crops and animal husbandry.

Organic foods include: organic vegetables and fruits, organic eggs, chickens, turkeys, and pigs. Organic olive, sunflower oils. Almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, honeys and jellies all organic.

Among the benefits offered by these products are: their color, flavor and aroma are of better quality; they have no chemicals, no fertilizers, or synthetic additives; they are products that contain many vitamins and minerals.

Its main disadvantage is how expensive it is to produce these foods and in many cases, there is not much variety compared to conventional foods. This is because its production process takes much longer and is carried out in small quantities. In general, those in charge of this process are small companies, such as cooperatives. Another disadvantage is that foods have a decrease in their useful life, since they do not have chemical preservatives.
