Froyo is an operating system for mobile telephony for Android that is discontinued. It was a code written by the Google company, leader and pioneer in this type of systems. Froyo is the 2010 version under identification 2.2 and its representative icon consists of a sweet froyo or in Spanish, which is equivalent to a yogurt with ice cream.
It was launched as an Android operating system in May 2010 by Google, it is version 2.2 of the line for cell phones and mobile devices. It was characterized by its USB anchoring, allowing mobile terminals to expand their connectivity with more complex equipment, in addition, Wi-Fi access points were incorporated with which data transmission via wireless was already a reality for this system.
Froyo was a version with many updates in which great technological advances were incorporated for the time, such as changes that include support for the android cloud (an additional service to users) for device messaging, which resulted in the possibility of view notifications with the push system.
Figures from Google revealed that a significant percentage of users who entered Google Play used Android 2.2 (Froyo) on their devices.
Among its outstanding features are the JIT compilation which significantly improved the speed of additional applications to the system; the option to deactivate the browsing data of mobile network services and support for the installation of applications to the expandable memory that allows not to use or copy the internal memory of the device.
Android Froyo was updated to version 2.2.3 on November 21, 2011, after this date it was considered obsolete.
The sweet that this system represents, as is characteristic of Google, is a Froyo or yogurt with green image ice cream in a basket and a popsicle. A sweet that begins with the letter F, which is preceded by the E in the Spanish alphabet, the letter with which the operating system that precedes it begins (it is a launching dynamic) so the name of its successor should have started with the letter G, this being Gingerbread.
