It is version 6.0 of Android with the sweet Marshmallow as its image. It is an operating system developed by Google Inc, released in May 2015 under the name Android M and officially named Android Marshmallow in August of the same year. It is preceded by Android Lollipop and succeeded by the until now Android N. Marshmallow means marshmallow in Spanish and with this name Google ensures its continuity with sweets in alphabetical order.
Android 6.0 is the twelfth version of Android, it was named in August 2015 with the name Marshmallow and is based on the incorporation of new features in the system and the increase in performance with a redesigned permission model. It is open source written in C (core), 2 C ++, and Java (UI). Among the innovations it offered was the separation by category of the permission for the installation of applications so that users can choose which specific permissions to take. It also offers native support for fingerprint recognition to unlock devices, as well as support for energy saving in the execution of background applications and USB Type-C input for faster charging.
The first devices to use the operating system were the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X, released in conjunction with the code release. Critics did not classify Android 6.0 as drastic when comparing the change with its previous version Lollipop, maintaining the “Material Design” style that defines Google.
This system still has the characteristics of its predecessors, however it has a powerful feature with which you can choose the default write disk and choose whether the removable card will fulfill the role of internal or external storage. So far it has been updated to version 6.0.1 in April 2016.
Esta vez el ícono de Android Marshmallow está representado por el típico androide de la marca sosteniendo siempre un malvavisco color blanco, existen otros logos para el sistema operativo cuando solo se conocía por Android M que consistían en la letra M construido con el estilo material design.
