Current is a term that comes from the Latin "Currere" which means "Running". It is an adjective that serves to qualify everything that tends to move with its own force through a channel or channel. In this way we refer to the current of a river, since the water circulates through the natural channel that is formed, this current can have a speed that varies according to weather conditions, when we say that the river has a strong current it is because the amount of water is higher than normal.
One of the most common uses is that of physics, electric current is a physical quantity that, combined with a unit of time, usually the second, shows the amount of electricity that passes through a conductor. There are two types of electric currents, direct current, which is not interrupted and goes in one direction, and alternating current, whose direction is variable and depends on the periodic frequency. Electric current is measured in amps.
In another vein, the term current is used in society as a synonym for "Common". Current is something whose specifications or characteristics do not stand out from the others of the same type, for example: a cell phone that does not have a new extra feature to those it usually contains is considered current. It can also be used in a derogatory, ordinary and vulgar tone, the same sentence can be used for example: "An ordinary woman without class is a vulgar woman because she has no education or background"
