A civil war is understood to be that confrontation that occurs between organized groups existing in the same country or territory, or it may also occur between two countries that were united as one. In other words, it is a warlike or aggressive combat in which its members are almost always formed by two opposing political parties; the possible characteristic that these two parties share is the armed conflict that manifests itself in a specific country; where individuals from the same territory, city, community or town confront each other, in order to defend two different ideologies, doctrines, positions or interests.
In certain situations the purpose of these confrontations is the succession of a part of the territory, however they are not always considered as civil wars, as an example of these types we can mention the American civil war or the wars of decolonization. A civil war can be considered as a revolution if the majority redistribution of a society occurs, such as the case of the American Revolution. And revolutions are generally conducted over matters of ideologies; One of the first examples of revolution we can expose the French Revolution, where the poor people of France opposed the monarchy.
In this type of conflict, sometimes there is the participation of foreign entities from different countries, either helping or collaborating with the different factions of said civil war, whose people become civilian volunteers who defend the ideology of the side they have selected. Since around 1945, civil wars have caused the deaths of more than 25 million people, but also the imperious migration of many more millions.
