Historians and cartographers believe that Thales of Miletus made the first world map where the world appears as a disk floating on water. The word Map comes from the Latin Map which means Drawing of the earth, however this concept has been extended to another type of search for places, points of the system and portions of territory. Although it is true that maps have simplified various human activities on a large scale, given the summary of the search for a destination, different types of Map have also originated, which show the distribution of a wired system or network of elements that make up a route, passage or trajectory. As for example, in a hydrological company, apart from a topographic map used to determine the stability and type of soils, they also use network maps of pipes and tributaries of rivers, streams and aquatic reservoirs, in order to specify a route to create networks for human consumption.
There are also other types of maps, such as meteorological maps, in which by means of satellites and special machines that calculate the level of rainfall in the atmosphere and the strength of the wind, they can establish the type of climate in a certain region of the planet.. There are also explanatory maps, these can be mental (through images they go through the history of an event) and conceptual maps (through small statements a great theory is broken down), they serve as a reference and axis of help to an exhibition or presentation.
