Cattle are described as a large ruminant mammal with a robust body, with a height of around 120-150 cm and with an average weight of approximately 600 to 800 kg. They have been bred by man since ancient times, around 10,000 years in the Middle East, then as an activity it was promoted around the world in the following years. In the beginning they were used mostly for the production of milk and meat together with the treaty of the land, followed by the use of its derivatives such as their horns, their excrement as a kind of fertilizer or fuel or, on the other hand, the skin for clothing production; In addition, some time later, bullfighting shows began in various countries.

The activity that includes this domestication and use of these animals is known as bovine farming. At present the cattle can be classified in two species that are the Bovidae taurus, native to the European continent comprising a large part of the various types of dairy and beef cattle; on the other hand, there is the Bovidae indicus with origin from India that are usually identified by the hump that is between the shoulders or on the cross of the animal.

Other characteristics of cattle are that it comes from the Bovid family, they have two hollow horns or antlers and maybe without sprouting that they manage to keep throughout their lives.
