Social work is an organization that provides medical care to workers, employees of a company, business or public entity.
In the salaries of the workers, the issue of health care is considered, and for that matter, the worker is deducted each month from the amount of money that is derived from an ark that links the funds to maintain social work. In other words, the contribution of each worker supports its operation.
Therefore, if the employee becomes ill or injured, or failing that any member of the family group who is also associated with it, he or she can receive appropriate medical care, that is, visit or be visited by a doctor, undergo medical practices, without having to pay for it.
In Argentina, the National Social Work Law is number 23,660, promulgated on January 5, 1989.
The workers that are included as beneficiaries of the health system are public and private dependents, retirees and those who are beneficiaries of non-contributory national benefits. Each social work elaborates its own statute, which must be registered with the National Directorate of Social Work.
In dependent workers, the worker must contribute to social work, 3% of their remuneration on a mandatory basis. The employer, also compulsorily, must contribute 6% of his employee's salary. The deposit of the worker's contributions and the employer's contributions are made by the latter, who deducts the contributions of his employee, paying the salary.
As a consideration, social works must provide workers with a health plan for themselves and their family group, which must cover basic health benefits. To do this, they must allocate 80% of their resources before deducting the contributions they must make to the Redistribution Solidarity Fund. In addition to health care, social work often provides other services, such as tourism and recreation.
Prepaid social work is not mandatory for the member, nor for the company to accept it as such. In general, an affidavit is required, indicating your good health at the time of enrollment. If you accept the member, you must pay a monthly fee in exchange for the medical care and other health services provided. Independent professionals, large merchants and, in general, independent workers included in the general tax regime, must opt for this health insurance.
